Grooming adult male
My way of grooming BRT is - shaving back legs, neck and ears first. Wash the dog. Dry and brushed dog on a table. Time for scissors.
|
Loki came for grooming. A lot of coat and undercoat to remove. Please remember, the dog has to change undercoat 2 times a year. Use the right tool to remove it.
| Dog loves to sit?! Ok. Start grooming from the lower back, from tail up to middle of back while dog is sitting.
| This is how the back should look like when we are done. No more sitting. Dog has to stay now.
|
This is how the back of your dog should look when you are done. Make lines nice and smooth. Do not cut too much. Leave longer coat to fix mistakes if necessary. | |
When back legs are trimmed and brushed you will see what you have to cut. Walk around to see what has to be removed.
| Keep scissors straight and try to use full length of blade. Do not pinch coat with end of the scissors tips.
| Remember to change angle while you are moving from the top to side and under. Don't make your dog look flat.
|
To trim legs you have to stay behind. That way will be easy to cut hair on both legs and make it look symmetrical
| | Cut hair around each paw. Have to see tips of dog nails.

Loki is groomed. I have videos and photos how to groom neck, head, shoulders and chest , look them UP and also on "Grooming BRT" page
| Dog is ready but next day I will find something to fix and touch up. To keep coat looking healthy and shiny use LEAVE-ON conditioner. It will help keep the coat clean and nice longer.
| Between grooming I prefer to let dog go outside for 5-10 min to see what I have to fix and how much I have tocut back on the grooming table.
